DelMonaco is a Minnesota-based musician whose sound blends cinematic storytelling with moody, melodic textures. The project focused on bringing that atmosphere to life visually through album artwork and photography.
THE PROBLEM:
The challenge was creating a gatefold vinyl package that felt immersive and intentional, not just decorative. The visuals needed to hold up in a physical format and feel connected to the tone of the record rather than functioning as separate artwork.
THE ROLE:
I led the art direction for the project, handling the album artwork, layout, and photography. This included the album cover, interior gatefold spreads, and supporting promotional materials.

ALBUM ARTWORK
The artwork leans into texture, space, and subtle contrast, drawing inspiration from analog formats, regional landscapes, and the tone of the record. Each panel of the gatefold was treated as part of a larger visual story, not a standalone moment.
BUILT FOR REAL USE
The layouts were designed specifically for vinyl, with attention paid to scale, pacing, and how the piece feels in-hand. The goal was to create something that rewards time spent with it, not just a quick scroll.
PHOTOGRAPHY
The photography was created to support the tone of the album and complement the artwork without overpowering it. The imagery works across physical packaging, press materials, and digital promotion.
THE RESULT
The final album package presents a cohesive visual world that feels timeless, atmospheric, and connected to the music. Every element, from imagery to layout, works together to support the record as a complete experience.
